Puerto Banús suits a hen party built around the marina: a private boat, a good group meal and either live music or a late club. If the accommodation is genuinely beside the port, much of the weekend can be done on foot, including the yacht berth, restaurants and several evening venues.

That convenience comes at a price. Puerto Banús is rarely the cheapest base, and accommodation advertised as “near Puerto Banús” may be well inland in Nueva Andalucía. Check the full address and the walking route before assuming the group will not need taxis.

Is Puerto Banús right for your hen party?

Puerto Banús is a good fit if the group wants:

A private yacht as the main activity.

Marina restaurants and drinks within a fairly compact area..

Live music as an alternative to a full nightclub.

Easy road access to Marbella centre, the Golden Mile and Nueva Andalucía.

It is less suitable if the priorities are:

Keeping accommodation and drinks as cheap as possible.

Staying somewhere with an old-town feel.

Having every beach venue, activity and club within walking distance.

Relying on spontaneous entry for a very large party.

Puerto Banús looks compact on a map, but the marina, Nueva Andalucía and Marbella centre are separate areas. The marina is walkable; the residential districts behind it are much more spread out.

Puerto Banús or Marbella centre?

Choose Puerto Banús when…Choose Marbella centre when…
The yacht, marina restaurants and Banús nightlife are the priorities. The group prefers the Old Town, central beaches and a wider choice of local bars.
Most guests are comfortable with a higher-spend weekend. The budget needs more choice in casual food and accommodation.
Walking between dinner and late drinks matters.Taking a taxi to Puerto Banús for one planned night is not a problem.
The group is happy to reserve the main tables and activities in advance. The group wants a looser evening without building the trip around the marina.

The road journey between Marbella centre and Puerto Banús is normally around 15–25 minutes in ordinary traffic. Allow longer on busy summer evenings, and do not count on several taxis arriving together after a major event.

Where to stay for a Puerto Banús hen weekend

Beside the marina

This is the easiest base for a boat-led trip. Depending on the exact property, the group may be able to walk to the Epic Yacht meeting point, Leone, Jack’s, Chow, Mumtaz, Red Pepper and Joys. It also lets somebody leave dinner or drinks early without arranging a separate taxi.

The drawbacks are higher prices, noise and awkward vehicle access around the pedestrian areas. Ask the host for the nearest practical drop-off point and how luggage is handled. A map pin tells you far more than “Puerto Banús” in a property title.

Nueva Andalucía

Nueva Andalucía covers a wide area behind Puerto Banús and is not one compact neighbourhood. A property close to the marina might be walkable, while one near Aloha or further inland may need taxis for every meal and night out. Hills, busy roads and the A-7 make some short-looking routes unsuitable in heels or after dark.

Nomad is in the Aloha area, not in the marina. If it is part of the evening, include transport there and back in the plan.

The Golden Mile

The Golden Mile sits between Marbella centre and Puerto Banús. It works well if the weekend includes a spa, time in Marbella and one night in Banús, though most accommodation is still a taxi ride from the marina.

San Pedro de Alcántara

San Pedro gives the group more accommodation options and is normally around 10–15 minutes from Puerto Banús in ordinary traffic. It is not a sensible walk home after a late night, so include return travel when comparing prices.

Cancelada

Cancelada may suit a villa group that values space over location, but it needs more planning. Allow roughly 20–30 minutes to Puerto Banús in normal conditions and longer when the roads are busy. For fixed bookings, a pre-arranged group vehicle is more dependable than asking several taxis to find the same villa.

What is actually walkable?

If the accommodation is beside the marina, the following can usually be done on foot:

Breakfast or brunch at Leone.

Boarding a confirmed Epic Yacht Marbella charter.

Lunch or dinner at the marina branches of Jack’s, Chow, Mumtaz or Red Pepper.

Drinks and live music at Joys.

A late booking at Funky Buddha or a summer event at TIBU, subject to that night’s entry conditions.

Nomad, the Golden Mile, Marbella centre and beach venues are not walkable from the port.

Puerto Banús hen-party activities

1. Private yacht from the marina

A private charter is the main practical reason to stay in Puerto Banús. Book through Epic Yacht Marbella; its boats leave from the port, so there is no cross-town transfer before a timed departure.

These two published options show the difference in size and price:

The Fairline Targa 43 is licensed for up to 11 guests. Published prices are €700 for two hours, €1,100 for four hours and €1,800 for eight hours, plus 21% VAT.

The Lagoon 450 catamaran takes up to 12 guests. From May to September, the published rates are €750 for two hours, €1,075 for four hours, €1,570 for six hours and €1,990 for eight hours, plus 21% VAT. Lower rates are listed for October to April.

Both pages include crew, fuel while cruising at nine knots, drinks and a light snack. The equipment is not identical: the Fairline lists snorkelling gear, a paddleboard and one Seabob, while the Lagoon lists snorkelling gear, a paddleboard and a kayak.

The catamaran gives the group more deck space and may feel steadier. The motor yacht can work better for a smaller party or shorter cruise. Neither will suit somebody who struggles badly with seasickness or boarding.

Before paying, confirm the exact vessel, licensed limit, VAT-inclusive total, berth, boarding time, deposit, catering, rules on bringing drinks and music, toilet access, swimming arrangements and weather policy. A party above the published limit needs a different licensed boat, not extra guests added to the booking.

2. Brunch overlooking the marina

Leone Brasserie is a marina-front restaurant with a retractable roof. Its bottomless brunch is served only until 12:30 and includes 90 minutes of the selected drinks. The current terms add a 10% service charge for parties of ten or more and require card details to cover a no-show after the booking is confirmed.

It works as a social first booking without taking over the day. It is less practical before an early boat, or for a party in which several guests do not want an alcohol-led package. Ask for the current menu price, non-alcoholic option, start time, table position and cancellation terms.

3. Live music instead of a nightclub

Joys Live on Calle Muelle Ribera is a live-music and cocktail venue, not a nightclub. It currently lists opening until 03:00, with terrace music from 21:30 and indoor performances from 23:30. The venue advertises live music every night, although the artist should still be checked for the chosen date.

You do not have to reserve a table. The table condition is a minimum spend of one bottle of spirits or champagne for every four guests. Ask how this is calculated when the headcount is not divisible by four, and what is available for non-drinkers.

Joys is particularly useful for mixed ages or a party that wants entertainment without committing to club tickets and a very late finish.

4. Dinner with entertainment at Nomad

Nomad is a restaurant with live entertainment in Nueva Andalucía. It is better suited to a main celebration dinner than a quiet meal before going elsewhere.

For reservations from 15 June, the current published minimum spend is €70 per person. Parties of more than eight must pay a €30-per-person deposit in advance. The deposit is refundable with at least 48 hours’ notice and is lost for a later cancellation or no-show. Groups above 12 are asked to contact the restaurant directly, and smart dress is recommended.

The booking page lists nightly summer performances from May to September. Confirm the programme for the date, particularly outside summer, as the venue’s published winter schedules are not consistent. Nomad is in Aloha rather than at the marina, so arrange transport in both directions.

5. A social beach day

There is no Metro Grupo beach venue beside the Puerto Banús marina, so a beach-bed day means travelling east.

Sabine Beach at Playa Real Zaragoza is a beach restaurant with sunbeds rather than a full-on party club. Its current booking graphic lists single beds at €20–€35 and three-person Bali beds at €80–€200, depending on the date, season and position. It is better suited to a relaxed or mixed-age party than a group expecting a DJ-led beach event.

Bono Beach at Playa Arenal near Elviria has a restaurant and beach beds, with entertainment on selected dates. Bed prices are shown through the live booking process rather than clearly listed on the public information page.

Max Beach in Riviera del Sol combines a seasonal adults-only pool area with beach beds and a restaurant. The pool is for guests aged 18 and over, and parties of 11 or more must contact the venue directly.

Depending on traffic and the venue, allow roughly 30–50 minutes each way from Puerto Banús. Max Beach requires smart-casual dress in the restaurant and does not allow swimwear there. Bono and Sabine do not publish a complete hen-party dress or admission policy, so ask about accessories, group size, bed layout, arrival time, deposit and cancellation terms. Any DJ, live music or party programme should be confirmed for the date rather than assumed from older listings.

6. A wet-weather or low-key alternative

Holo VR Zone near Puerto Banús advertises virtual-reality games, VR escape rooms and group activities indoors. Its site currently lists daily opening from 12:00 to 22:00, but it does not give a clear adult group price, session length or simultaneous capacity.

This can work when the weather rules out a boat or beach day, provided the whole party can take part without spending most of the session waiting. Ask about the adult format, exclusive use, capacity, language, duration, accessibility, full price and cancellation terms.

Eating in Puerto Banús with a hen group

Choose the restaurant around the rest of the day rather than judging it only by the marina view.

Leone: Useful for brunch, breakfast or a smarter marina meal that is still fairly relaxed.

Chow: Serves Asian dishes, sushi and cocktails on Calle Muelle Ribera. It makes sense before drinks nearby, but check that the menu works for allergies and guests who do not eat sushi.

Red Pepper: Greek and Mediterranean food in the marina, with starters designed for sharing. Its current set menus are €65 and €75 per person; ask what drinks and group conditions apply.

Mumtaz: Indian curries, tandoor dishes and biryanis with marina views. Metro Grupo’s venue listing currently says that Mumtaz does not take reservations in August, although the restaurant website has a booking link. August parties need a direct answer before building the evening around it.

Jack’s Smokehouse: An informal option with a broad menu, useful when tastes and budgets vary. Its current set menus are €42, €56 and €69 per person.

These are all Metro Grupo restaurants. For a large booking, request the latest group menu, table arrangement, dietary options, deposit, final-number deadline, payment method and cancellation terms. An online reservation form does not guarantee that a large party will sit together.

Puerto Banús nightlife for hen groups

A flexible marina night

Have dinner, stop at a marina bar and finish at Joys if the group wants live music. This plan is easier for mixed ages, non-drinkers and anyone who does not want to stay out until sunrise. It also avoids paying for a club table that only part of the party wants.

A full club night

Funky Buddha is a nightclub on Calle Muelle Ribera. Its main venue page currently lists opening from 01:00 to 06:00 on Thursday and from 01:00 to 07:00 on Friday and Saturday. The event calendar can show additional nights, so follow the listing for the chosen date rather than treating those hours as a complete weekly schedule.

TIBU is a nightclub behind the marina in Plaza Antonio Banderas. It runs a summer programme of promoted events, and the music changes with the night. Current listings cover hip-hop, R&B, Afrobeats, Amapiano, house and French urban music. Prices, free-entry offers and last-entry times are event-specific.

Whichever club you choose, confirm the minimum age, physical ID requirement, ticket or table, dress code, hen accessories, minimum spend, last entry, group acceptance and cancellation terms. A booking does not remove the venue’s door conditions.

A realistic three-day Puerto Banús hen plan

Friday: arrive and keep the evening flexible

Arrange one airport transfer to the full accommodation address. After check-in, have dinner at Leone, Chow or Jack’s, then move to Joys or stay near the property for drinks. An expensive club booking is a poor first commitment after a day of separate flights and possible delays.

Saturday: yacht and the main evening

Have breakfast, then take a three- or four-hour Epic Yacht charter from Puerto Banús. Leave enough time afterwards for food, showers and a rest. In the evening, choose either Nomad with booked transport or a marina dinner followed by a pre-arranged TIBU or Funky Buddha event.

Do not try to fit a long brunch, a boat, a beach club, Nomad and a nightclub into the same day. The transfers and fixed arrival times make it far more rushed than it appears on paper.

Sunday: brunch or a slow final meal

Use Leone for an early brunch if the flight allows, or keep the last meal simple at Jack’s. Sabine, Bono or Max Beach only makes sense on departure day when there is plenty of time to travel east, collect luggage and get back onto the airport route.

What should the group budget for?

Prices vary by month and rise quickly when the plan includes reserved tables. These current published examples are useful starting points:

Jack’s set menus: €42, €56 or €69 per person.

Red Pepper set menus: €65 or €75 per person.

Nomad minimum spend: €70 per person for reservations from 15 June, plus a €30-per-person deposit for groups above eight under the current terms.

Epic Yacht Fairline four-hour charter: €1,100 plus 21% VAT for up to 11 guests.

Epic Yacht Lagoon four-hour charter from May to September: €1,075 plus 21% VAT for up to 12 guests.

Sabine single beds: €20–€35 according to the current booking graphic, depending on the date, season and position.

Accommodation, club tickets, table spends and transport change too often for one dependable weekend total. Get live quotes before collecting money and keep a contingency for taxis, deposits and late cancellations.
