Marbella suits hen groups looking for sunshine, beaches, good restaurants and lively nights out without spending every night in a club until sunrise.

It is especially good for groups with mixed tastes. A weekend can include a boat trip, a beach club, dinner in the Old Town and a night out in Puerto Banús, with enough flexibility for people to skip an activity or take things at a slower pace.

It is not the cheapest destination on the Costa del Sol. Groups focused on keeping costs down should also look at Mijas Costa and Benalmádena. If all-night superclubs are the priority, compare Marbella with Ibiza and Mykonos before deciding.

The best areas to stay for a Marbella hen party

Marbella Old Town

Stay in the Old Town for cobbled streets, small squares, tapas bars and long dinners. Central Marbella is easy to explore on foot and feels more Spanish than the marina.

Rooms in the centre can be expensive in busy months, and you will need a taxi for most boat trips and nights out in Puerto Banús.

Best for: first-time visitors and groups planning their weekend around food and atmosphere.

Puerto Banús

Choose Puerto Banús if boats and nightlife are the main priorities. Many private charters leave from the marina, with restaurants, cocktail bars, live music and late-night venues nearby.

It is the most expensive area. Check the address before booking, as some properties advertised as Puerto Banús are not within walking distance of the marina.

Best for: short, nightlife-focused weekends.

The Golden Mile

The Golden Mile lies between Marbella centre and Puerto Banús. It has hotels, villas and restaurants within easy reach of both areas, without putting the group in the middle of the marina nightlife.

It is a long stretch rather than one walkable neighbourhood, so taxis are usually necessary.

Best for: villa stays, mixed-age groups and anyone splitting plans between Marbella and Puerto Banús.

San Pedro de Alcántara

San Pedro often offers better-value accommodation than Puerto Banús. It has its own town centre, restaurants and seafront, with a more local feel than the marina.

Most boat trips, major activities and Puerto Banús nights out require transport. Include those fares when comparing accommodation prices.

Best for: cost-conscious groups and longer stays.

Nueva Andalucía

Nueva Andalucía has villas, townhouses and apartments with private or communal pools behind Puerto Banús. It can give a larger group more bedrooms and shared space than a marina apartment.

Do not treat “near Puerto Banús” as “walkable”. The area is spread out and many routes involve hills or busy roads, so check the exact address and budget for taxis.

Best for: groups that want a pool and more space while remaining close to Puerto Banús by car.

Cancelada, Estepona

Cancelada is in Estepona, west of Marbella. Villas and flats with communal pools can be noticeably better value than similar accommodation in Nueva Andalucía or central Marbella, particularly when the group books early or travels outside peak summer.

The saving is not guaranteed and should be checked against live prices for the same dates. Add airport transfers and every return journey to Puerto Banús or Marbella before deciding. A cheaper property can stop being cheaper once several taxis are included.

Best for: groups prioritising accommodation value, a pool and shared space over walking access to nightlife.

Cabopino and east Marbella

Cabopino, Elviria and east Marbella suit groups planning most of the weekend around the beach. This side of town has sandy coves, chiringuitos and Metro Grupo venues such as Bono Beach and Sabine Beach. Cabopino also has a small marina.

Puerto Banús is on the other side of Marbella, so this area is inconvenient if you plan to go there every night.

Best for: beach days and quieter evenings.

Six activities to consider

One main daytime booking is usually enough. Leave time for lunch, travel and getting ready.

Beach club day: Book beds or a group table in advance and stay for lunch, drinks and music.

Private boat from Puerto Banús: Most charters last two to four hours and include a skipper; check the details before paying.

Cocktail-making or dance class: Easy to fit into arrival day and suitable for groups with different ages and energy levels.

Old Town tapas evening: Visit a few tapas bars and walk through the historic centre instead of booking a formal dinner.

Spa or pool morning: A low-effort plan for the morning after a late night.

Brunch and sunset drinks: A flexible final-day option that does not need to involve the whole group for hours.

Four places for food and drinks

Cibo, Bono Beach, Jacks Smokehouse and Nomad are run by Metro Grupo, the team behind this guide. Each suits a different part of a hen weekend. They are included for practical reasons, and the limitations are stated so the section remains useful rather than promotional.

Cibo, Golden Mile

Cibo is a modern Italian restaurant on the Golden Mile, convenient for groups travelling between Marbella and Puerto Banús. The menu has familiar choices for mixed tastes, and there is road access and parking nearby. It works well for a celebratory dinner without the formality of fine dining.

Bono Beach, east Marbella

Bono Beach combines lunch, cocktails and beach time in one booking. It has Bali beds and sun loungers, serves an international menu and holds seasonal parties and entertainment. It opens seasonally, and larger groups should reserve well ahead in warmer months.

Jacks Smokehouse, Puerto Banús

Jacks is a casual marina restaurant for larger groups eating before a night out. The menu includes burgers, pizzas, salads, ribs and steaks, and the upper floor can hold sizeable parties. Its range makes it easier to accommodate different tastes and budgets.

It is the most straightforward option here for a large informal group. Confirm the final headcount, table area, deposit and whether a set menu or pre-order is needed.

Nomad, Nueva Andalucía

Nomad suits a hen group that wants dinner and entertainment in the same booking. Its official schedule currently lists live dinner shows from Thursday to Sunday in winter and live performances nightly in summer. Groups of more than eight require a prepaid deposit, and summer bookings can carry a minimum spend, so it is better for the main celebration night than a low-cost arrival meal.

See our Marbella hen party restaurant guide for the full Metro Grupo shortlist and advice on deposits, group menus, dietary needs and decorations.

Boat parties and private charters

Our boat recommendations now use Epic Yacht Marbella, whose current fleet departs from Puerto Banús. Private charters generally run for two to four hours and include a skipper or crew. Drinks, snacks, water equipment, fuel limits and VAT vary by vessel, so use the individual listing rather than assuming one package applies to every yacht.

Before paying a deposit, check the licensed passenger limit, weather policy, cancellation terms, alcohol rules, final payment date and what happens if the group size changes. Availability, final prices and booking terms must be confirmed directly with Epic Yacht Marbella. Our Marbella hen party boat guide covers three current options and the booking questions to ask.

A three-day Marbella hen weekend

Day one: arrival, Marbella and an easy dinner

Afternoon: Take a pre-booked group transfer, check in and allow time for food and getting ready.

Early evening: Walk through the Old Town or have drinks on the Golden Mile.

Dinner: Book Cibo for a relaxed Italian meal or Jacks Smokehouse for a casual large-group dinner. Confirm the menu, deposit and final numbers beforehand.

Later: Stay in central Marbella for a quieter night or go to Puerto Banús for bars and live music.

Day two: boat or beach club, followed by the main night

Late morning: Have brunch near the accommodation rather than committing the group to an early start.

Afternoon: Book an Epic Yacht Marbella charter from Puerto Banús or spend the afternoon at Bono Beach in east Marbella.

Early evening: Allow enough time to return, rest and get ready.

Dinner and nightlife: Choose Nomad when the group wants a dinner show, checking the current entertainment schedule and booking terms. Puerto Banús is the natural choice if the group wants to continue afterwards.

Day three: brunch, pool time and departure

Late morning: Keep brunch close to the accommodation and avoid a fixed early start after the main night.

Early afternoon: Use the accommodation pool, take a gentle walk along the seafront or book a spa treatment. Leave enough time for showers, luggage and check-out.

Final meal: If flights are late, choose an unfussy lunch at Jacks Smokehouse or Cibo rather than another long event booking.

Departure: Pre-book a vehicle with enough luggage space and set the collection time around the furthest guest, not the most optimistic one.

Adapt the third day to the flight times rather than forcing in another major activity. See our full Marbella hen weekend itinerary when it is published.

How much does a Marbella hen party cost?

For two nights, allow around €450-€800 per person excluding flights. This assumes shared accommodation and one main activity. Dates, room arrangements, location and drinking plans make the biggest difference.

Lower-cost trip: about €350-€500 per person. Stay in San Pedro or compare a flat with a communal pool in Cancelada, book transfers in advance, choose one paid activity and limit expensive meals or nights out.

Mid-range trip: about €500-€800 per person. Stay centrally or on the Golden Mile, arrange group transfers, book a boat or beach club and allow for two dinners and one big night out.

Higher-end trip: €900 or more per person. Stay in Puerto Banús or travel in peak season, hire a private boat and add premium beach beds, restaurants and nightlife.

These are planning figures, not package prices. July and August, large villas, sea-view hotels, minimum spends and late bookings can raise the total. Read our Costa del Sol hen party cost guide before collecting payments.

Five planning tips

Choose the area before the property. Marbella covers a long stretch of coast, and a cheap villa can become expensive once daily taxis are added.

Check the accommodation rules. Ask about hen groups, noise, visitors and security deposits before paying.

Be clear with restaurants. Give the real group size and say it is a hen party so the venue knows what to expect.

Do not overbook the day. One main activity leaves room for delays, meals and getting ready.

Collect shared costs in advance. One person should not be left covering deposits and chasing repayments during the trip.
