A Marbella hen or stag weekend does not need to revolve around drinking. Padel, golf, hiking, gym sessions and watersports can provide the main daytime plan, with plenty of time left for dinner or a night out.
Choose the activity around the least confident participant, not the fittest person in the group. Check swimming ability, injuries, previous experience, heat tolerance and budget before anyone pays. A coached padel session can be adjusted for beginners; a seven-hour La Concha hike cannot be made easy once you are on the mountain.
The hen and stag sections below suggest different ways to plan the day. They are not rules about who should book each activity.
Quick activity chooser
| Group or priority | Strongest options | Time to allow | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Competitive stag group | Padel tournament or golf | 1.5 hours to a full day | Courts, tee times and equipment need to be booked together |
| Very fit stag group | Guided La Concha hike | About 7 hours | Requires good fitness, proper footwear and an early start |
| Stag group wanting a short adrenaline activity | Jet skiing or water skiing | 20 minutes to 2 hours, plus check-in | Seasonal, weather-dependent and unsuitable after drinking |
| Mixed-fitness stag group | Coached padel or kayaking | 1–2 hours | Check how many people can take part at once |
| Relaxed hen group | Private yoga or mat Pilates at the accommodation | About 60–90 minutes | The property must allow an outside instructor |
| Active hen group | SUP Pilates, SUP yoga or paddleboarding | About 90 minutes | Participants need to be comfortable around water |
| Mixed-age hen group | Gentle yoga, Pilates or a supervised swim | About 60 minutes | Tell the instructor about injuries and pregnancy in advance |
| Travelling outside summer | Gym session, Pilates, padel or golf | 1 hour to a full day | Rain and wind can still disrupt outdoor plans |
| Group with non-drinkers | Any activity on this page | Varies | Make sure the rest of the day is not built entirely around alcohol |
Healthy stag-do activities in Marbella
Padel tournament at Real Club Padel Marbella
Padel is easy to turn into a stag competition. Four people play on each court, so a larger party can book several courts, rotate partners and finish with semi-finals and a final. Beginners can usually take part with a short introduction, although the game still involves sudden turns and repeated short sprints.
Real Club Padel Marbella is on Calle Río Amazonas in Nueva Andalucía, close to Puerto Banús. It has six outdoor courts and currently publishes these hire prices:
€36 for one hour
€54 for 90 minutes
€72 for two hours
Each court takes a maximum of four players. A private lesson costs €65 for up to two people, with no more than two additional players charged at €20 each. Sundays and public holidays carry a €5 supplement.
Those lesson prices apply to small groups, not a complete stag tournament. Ask for one coordinated booking covering the courts, rackets, balls and any introductory coaching. Six courts on site does not mean that all six will be free at the same time.
Allow around 90 minutes for a compact tournament, or two hours if several players need coaching. Before booking, confirm whether the courts can be kept together, the equipment cost, changing facilities, suitable footwear, the rain policy and cancellation terms. Outdoor padel will not suit guests with relevant knee, ankle or shoulder problems.
Gym or functional-fitness session
A gym session makes sense when several people already train. Individual day passes can leave everyone doing a separate workout, so ask about a private strength, functional-fitness or HYROX-style session if the aim is to do something together.
The Real Club Padel Marbella gym has a 350-square-metre indoor gym and more than 10,000 square metres of outdoor training space. Its listed facilities include cardio and strength equipment, a Cross Workout box, a HYROX area, TRX and combat-sport spaces. The current single-entry pass is €25, or €30 from 1 April to 30 September. Opening hours are 07:00–23:00 Monday to Saturday and 08:00–23:00 on Sunday.
A day pass covers individual access; it does not confirm a private stag session or places in a scheduled class. Ask whether the club can provide a coach, a suitable circuit and enough space for the whole party. Check whether each guest must register separately and whether the chosen class is included.
THE I/O in San Pedro de Alcántara is another fitness-focused option. Its website describes a members' health club centred on movement and recovery. The application form includes a day-pass option, but there is no published day-pass price, class timetable, group policy or capacity. The site does not list padel courts either, so treat THE I/O as an enquiry-led health club rather than a confirmed stag or padel package.
A shared workout usually needs 60–90 minutes, plus time to change. It is a poor fit for a mixed-fitness party or anyone who may feel pressured to match the strongest member. Give the coach advance notice of injuries and ask about towels, changing rooms and access to any recovery areas.
Golf: choose the course around the group
Golf can take up most of the day once travel, check-in and equipment collection are included. It works best when the majority already play and are happy to split across consecutive tee times. For several complete beginners, nine holes, a lesson or a driving-range competition is usually easier to organise.
| Course | Why it may suit the group | Published 2026 examples | Check before booking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Los Naranjos Golf | Close to Nueva Andalucía and Puerto Banús | 18 holes with buggy from €139 in low season and €145 in mid season; the high-season 18-hole green fee is €177 before any buggy add-on | Handicaps, adjacent tee times and whether the chosen rate includes a buggy |
| Cabopino Golf Marbella | Lower published starting price and convenient for accommodation east of Marbella | 18 holes €62–€98; 18 holes with a shared buggy €75–€116, depending on season | Return transport, particularly from Puerto Banús or the western side of Marbella |
| Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort | Published route for group enquiries and buggy-inclusive rates | 18 holes with a shared buggy €110 in low season or €139 in high season; nine holes €67 or €85 | Group rates are requested for eight players or more |
Real Club de Golf Guadalmina is well placed for San Pedro and Cancelada, but its public rate page was still labelled 2025 when checked. Ask for the current visitor and group prices rather than using the old figures.
Send the club's dress code and handicap rules to everyone before travelling. Matching shirts may be accepted, but costumes, loud behaviour or drinking on arrival can cause problems. Also confirm tee-time spacing, buggies, club hire, any temporary federation licence, the deposit and cancellation policy.
Hiking La Concha
La Concha is the mountain behind Marbella. The route is a serious day hike, not a casual walk before brunch, and the terrain is easier to underestimate when seen from the coast.
Marbella's official description of the Istán–La Concha PR-A 135 route says that parts of the path are difficult to distinguish. One section has no clear trail and relies on stone cairns for direction. The summit is at 1,215 metres.
A guide is the sensible choice for visitors. Marbella Adventures lists a seven-hour private hike for ages 16 and over, from €55 per person. The operator describes a ten-kilometre route and says the climb to the summit takes about three to four hours. Participants need good fitness and some experience of longer hikes. The listed inclusions are an English-speaking guide, a small backpack and two litres of water per person; walkers bring lunch, layers and proper hiking shoes.
Do not schedule La Concha for the morning after the main night out. Poor sleep, dehydration and summer heat are a difficult combination on exposed ground. Start early, accept the guide's decision on conditions and arrange another plan for anyone who should not attempt the summit. Allow the full seven hours plus transfers, and ask what happens if the guide turns the party back.
Kayaking rather than canoeing
People often search for canoeing in Marbella, but beachfront operators commonly advertise sit-on-top kayaks. If the party wants a gentle coastal paddle, use the name shown on the provider's booking page.
Marbella Jet Ski at Playa de las Dunas in east Marbella currently lists a double kayak at €30 for one hour. It is less demanding than water skiing and fits easily into a beach morning. One double kayak is not a group activity, though, so confirm how many craft are available together and whether an instructor can supervise the session.
Kayaking can work for mixed fitness levels, but not for non-swimmers or anyone uncomfortable at sea. Ask about buoyancy aids, route limits, storage, changing facilities and the policy for wind or rough water.
Jet skiing
Jet skiing is an adrenaline activity rather than a workout, but its short running time makes it easy to add to an active day. Marbella Jet Ski currently lists a closed-circuit session at €70 for 20 minutes or €90 for 30 minutes. No licence is required for that format because training is provided. Guided excursions are advertised from €170 for one hour and €330 for two hours.
The published season runs from May to October. Before building the timetable, find out how many machines can operate at once; otherwise, most of the party may spend the session waiting on the beach. Nobody should ride after drinking. Confirm the rider age, identification requirements and medical restrictions before paying.
This is better suited to a smaller party than a large group expecting to ride together. It may also be unsuitable for non-swimmers and people with relevant back or neck conditions.
Water skiing or wakeboarding
Water skiing and wakeboarding require balance, core strength and a willingness to keep trying after a fall. Marbella Jet Ski currently lists both at €90 for a 20-minute ride, with equipment and a wetsuit when needed. Beginners receive a short technique briefing.
Twenty minutes can be physically tiring for one person, but it will not occupy a full stag party. It works better as part of a wider watersports booking. Ask how many guests can take a turn during the reserved period and what happens if a beginner cannot get upright. This is not suitable for weak swimmers or anyone with relevant joint, back or shoulder problems.
Healthy hen-party activities in Marbella
Private yoga at the accommodation
A private class at the villa or apartment avoids an extra taxi journey and can be adjusted for beginners. First check that the property allows an outside instructor and has enough flat, shaded space for everyone.
Full Vitality Spa advertises private and group yoga at villas, apartments and hotels in Marbella and surrounding areas, including Puerto Banús, Nueva Andalucía and San Pedro. Sessions usually last about 60 minutes and can be adapted to the group's level. The public page does not give a standard group price or maximum number.
Sabine Beach also advertises morning yoga facing the sea at Playa Real de Zaragoza. Its current page asks guests to make contact but does not publish a day, time, duration, price or group limit. Do not build the itinerary around a regular class until the venue has confirmed the chosen date.
Ask whether the session will be private, what style and level will be taught, and who provides the mats. The instructor will also need to know about pregnancy, injuries or mobility restrictions. For an outdoor class, confirm the travel fee, shade, wet-weather alternative and cancellation terms.
Mat Pilates at the villa or Reformer Pilates at Real Club Padel
Mat Pilates is easier to arrange for a larger hen party because an instructor can bring light equipment to suitable accommodation. Full Vitality Events advertises private Pilates, yoga and functional training at villas and hotels. Its published information says mats, bands and light weights are included and covers groups of up to 20, with prices supplied by quotation.
Reformer Pilates needs a studio with enough machines. Real Club Padel Marbella currently lists drop-in classes at €30 and private sessions at €50. Its published weekday timetable runs Monday to Thursday at 09:00, 10:00 and 11:00. The page does not state how many reformers are available or whether a hen party can book the studio privately. Pregnant clients are asked to contact reception, and cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Allow about an hour for the class, plus travel and changing time if using a studio. Confirm the format, capacity, equipment, experience level and total group price before collecting money. The instructor should receive details of any required pregnancy or injury modifications in advance.
SUP yoga or SUP Pilates
SUP yoga and Pilates take place on stand-up paddleboards. The unstable surface adds a balance challenge, and falling into the water is a normal part of the session. It is more playful than a studio class, but far more dependent on wind and sea conditions.
Seven Palms Wellness currently lists private group SUP yoga or Pilates for six to 16 guests at €60 per person. The linked page gives a 90-minute session and says that paddleboards and safety equipment are included. It names Marbella Club Hotel and Playa del Cristo in Estepona as locations, so confirm which one is available before arranging transport.
This option suits hens who are confident around water. It is a poor choice for non-swimmers or anyone with balance or mobility concerns. Ask about the exact beach, swimming requirement, instructor-to-participant ratio, buoyancy aids, changing facilities, storage, wind policy and refund terms.
Paddleboarding and kayaking
For a simpler session on the water, Marbella Jet Ski lists stand-up paddleboards at €25 for one hour and double kayaks at €30 for one hour. These are equipment-hire prices. A large hen party will need confirmation of how many boards or kayaks can be supplied at once and whether beginner supervision is available.
Morning conditions are often preferable, but the operator should make the decision for the booked date. Paddleboarding still requires balance and confidence in the water; calling it gentle does not make it suitable for a non-swimmer.
Swimming without turning it into a group challenge
Swimming is easy to fit around other plans, but it still needs sensible limits. Use the accommodation pool only if access is included and the property rules allow it. At the beach, stay within the bathing area, follow the flags and lifeguard instructions, and keep clear of marked watersports zones. Nobody should swim after drinking.
Do not let the strongest swimmer lead the party far offshore. If the intention is a proper open-water training session rather than a quick dip, use a qualified coach with the safety equipment and support appropriate to the route. Sun Tri Sports advertises coached open-water swimming around Marbella, with safety buoys and optional canoe support. Its page describes training camps rather than a short hen or stag session and does not publish a capacity or price, so ask for a tailored quotation.
A lighter walking option
A fit hen party may enjoy La Concha, but a shorter coastal or foothill walk is easier to fit around mixed abilities and a lunch booking. Ask a local guide for the duration, ascent and likely shade rather than accepting “easy” as the full route description.
If the group chooses La Concha, use the same seven-hour plan and the same footwear, fitness and navigation precautions as the stag version. It should be the main event of the day, not an extra between brunch and the beach.
Choose the activity around the people travelling
None of these activities belongs exclusively to hens or stags. A competitive hen party may prefer padel to yoga, while a stag party after a travel day may get more from Pilates than a hard gym circuit. The useful distinction is the group's fitness, confidence and interest, not gender.
Two realistic active-day plans
Healthy stag day
09:30: Light breakfast and water. Leave more recovery time after a late night.
11:00–13:00: Coached padel tournament at Real Club Padel Marbella, with enough courts for proper rotations.
13:30–16:00: Lunch and downtime. Keep alcohol out of the plan if anyone is jet skiing later.
17:00–18:30: Jet-ski circuit or kayak session in east Marbella, subject to sea conditions and confirmed capacity.
This works better for mixed fitness levels than trying to combine La Concha with another physical activity. If the party chooses the hike or 18 holes of golf, make it the day's only main activity.
Healthy hen day
09:30–10:30: Private yoga or mat Pilates at the accommodation.
11:30–13:00: SUP Pilates or paddleboarding, subject to wind and water conditions.
13:30 onwards: Lunch followed by an unstructured beach or pool afternoon.
For a mixed-age party, choose either the land class or the water session rather than expecting everyone to complete both. A private instructor may be able to provide easier and stronger variations within the same class.
Planning by area
Marbella's activity venues are spread along the coast. Puerto Banús is not within walking distance of the watersports bases in east Marbella, and central Marbella is not a practical walk from a San Pedro health club.
| Staying area | Convenient activities | Activities likely to need organised transport |
|---|---|---|
| Puerto Banús or Nueva Andalucía | Real Club Padel, Los Naranjos Golf, yoga or Pilates at the accommodation | La Concha trailhead, east-Marbella watersports, Cabopino or Higuerón golf |
| Golden Mile or Marbella centre | Beach swimming, an accommodation-based class and access towards La Concha | Real Club Padel, THE I/O, most golf courses and east-Marbella watersports |
| San Pedro de Alcántara | THE I/O, an accommodation-based class and Guadalmina-area golf | La Concha and east-Marbella watersports |
| Cancelada | An accommodation-based class and western golf options | Real Club Padel, Marbella centre, La Concha and east-Marbella watersports |
For a larger party, several individual taxis may cost more than a return minibus. Compare both options, especially for a fixed start time or a meeting point away from the main resorts. Confirm whether the driver will wait or return later.
Heat, water and recovery
Schedule La Concha, golf and outdoor training early in the day during warm weather.
Do not use strenuous exercise as a hangover cure. Poor sleep and dehydration reduce what people can safely manage.
Get the watersports operator's wind and wave policy in writing, including the options for rescheduling or a refund.
Keep swimmers away from marked watersports zones and follow beach flags and lifeguard instructions where provided.
Collect information about swimming ability, pregnancy, injuries and relevant medical conditions privately. Share only what the provider needs, with the participant's knowledge.
Allow for check-in, safety briefings, showers, changing and travel. A 20-minute jet-ski ride takes much longer than 20 minutes out of the day.
Limit the day to one demanding activity. A light recovery session can be added if the timetable and fitness levels allow it.
Booking checklist
Confirm the number taking part, not only the number travelling.
